Pirohy
This almost speaks for itself. Everyone knows what pirohy is.
Not as many know how it’s made. Some 50 volunteers gather either on Thursday and/or
Friday to "pinch" pirohy. This art is easily taught to any interested person. There
are many other ways to help with pirohy - all fun and exciting. Come on board! This
is a great chance for older adults, and all ages who might be available, to socialize
and have fun. This is a time of friendship, work, and satisfaction. On Thursdays and
Fridays from September through May, men and women gather in the church hall to make
and sell pirohy. The pirohy come in different shapes and sizes, filled with potato,
cabbage, or cottage cheese. The workers also come in different shapes and sizes and
are filled with laughter, frolic, and good will. Proceeds are used to fund special
and needed parish programs or projects. You can order pirohy on Thursday or Friday
mornings from 7-11am by calling 542.3525.
