- The Diocese of Youngstown is established (May 15)
- Bishop McFadden is named as first bishop (July 22)
1948
- First Catholic census of Springfield Township is taken (90 families)
1950
- A new church is established but no priest assigned yet to cover
both Poland and Springfield Townships
1952
- Bishop Walsh succeeds Bishop McFadden (Nov. 16)
- St. Paul’s is established & Fr. Pawlewicz named pastor (June 19)
- First masses are held at New Middletown School (July 6)
- First parish council established
- The Sisters of the Humility of Mary join the staff at St. Paul’s
1953
- Ground breaking takes place for a new church (April)
- Church cornerstone is laid (Sept. 20)
- First mass held in new church (Christmas Midnight Mass)
1954
- St. Paul the Apostle Church is dedicated (Nov. 21)
1964
- The Ursuline Sisters join the staff at St. Paul’s
1965
- Fr. Pawlewicz dies (Jan. 13)
- Fr. Haidet succeeds Fr. Pawlewicz
1967
- Fr. Bissler succeeds Fr. Haidet (August)
1968
- Bishop Malone is appointed Bishop of Youngstown (May 8)
1969
- Our Religious Education Center (REC) is dedicated (Oct. 12)
1971
- Fr. William O’Neil succeeds Fr. Bissler (June 18)
1976
- Our Parish Council is reorganized
1981
- Fr. Richard Brobst succeeds Fr. William O’Neil (July)
1987
- Fr. Tim O’Neill succeeds Fr. Brobst (July)
- The church renovation begun by Fr. Brobst is completed
1989
- Our first outdoor Saturday mass is celebrated
1992
- Fr. Martin Kopunec succeeds Fr. Tim O’Neill (Oct. 13)
- Fr. Kopunec’s death (Oct. 13)
- Fr. Francis Hughes is appointed interim pastor
1993
- Fr. Nick Shori, former Director of Pastoral Care at St. Elizabeth
Health Center, succeeds Fr. Kopunec (July 15)
- Number of families now in the parish is set at 750
1995
- St. Paul’s studies a major plan of renovation & building to meet
future needs - Parish Council approves building a new church
- Bishop Tobin becomes bishop of Youngstown (Dec. 5)
- First Annual K of C Corn Roast
1997
- Ground breaking for the new church is held (April) and construction
begins (June)
1998
- First mass is held in the new church (May 16)
- Bishop Tobin dedicates the new church (Oct. 10)
2000
- 1st Palm Sunday Drama
2001
- “Heart of Christ” Bust arrives at St. Paul’s
2002
- 50th Anniversary of St. Paul Parish
- High School WITNESS Program Begins
2004
- TRE Total Family Religious Education Program Begins
- 1st Annual Sisters In Grace Conference

- Hearts for Safe Harbor African Cause Begins

- Bp. Murry succeeds Bp. Tobin as Bishop of Youngstown
2008
- Bp. Murry makes first visit as new Bishop of Youngstown
