T.R.E.
It is our responsibility as Roman Catholics of all ages to understand
the tenets of our faith and to experience spiritual formation on a regular basis. Our Total
Parish Religious Experience is for everyone, adults and young alike (ages 4+). This experience
involves a wide range of activities. First, a monthly session (8 during the year) is held on
Sunday afternoons from 1-3:30 p.m. and 4:30-7 p.m. All meet in Church for prayer and orientation
on a specific theme, then proceed to age level groupings; adults remain in the church for their
own session; then all congregate, once again, in church for closing prayer. Household packets
are distributed for additional learning and activities to be done at home. A specific liturgical
celebration at a later time brings to fruition the concepts studied and experienced. Those who
commit themselves to this process will be nourished in their faith; and most importantly, parents
and guardians, as primary educators of their children’s faith, will be equipped to actually teach
and share their faith with their children. By sharing our faith story with those around us, we
can help one another, (especially our children); feel the constant love and care God has through
the richness of our Catholic faith. We all benefit from this program because we all learn, mature,
and experience more fully the Lord Jesus Christ and the Church He established for us. To enroll,
call the Religious Education Center (542-3824). In addition to TRE, various opportunities for
Adult Faith Formation are offered throughout the year. Our yearly Mission (for all parishioners,
including youth) takes place sometime during the week before Palm Sunday. In addition, Scripture
studies and retreat type experiences are scheduled as needs unfold.
